My Trick for Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs Everytime
About 11 years ago, I found myself frustrated by the inconsistent results I would get whenever I cooked hard boiled eggs. I decided I was going to figure out how to make them right every time, and spent the next few weeks experimenting. I finally landed on a technique that works every time. I hope it works for you too.
Perfect Hard-Boiled Eggs
Simple way to make hard-boiled eggs right everytime.
Ingredients
- Eggs
- Water
- Ice
Instructions
- Place eggs in small pot and add enough water to cover the eggs with an inch of water.
- Place pot on stove with high heat and bring to a boil.
- The minute you see the water boiling, turn off the heat, cover the pot and move the pot away from the hot burner.
- Leave the pot covered for 12 minutes.
- Immediately remove the eggs and place in a bowl of ice water to stop them from cooking.
Notes
Many times I'm in a time-crunch and will skip the ice bath. Instead I'll run the eggs under cold running water in a pinch.
